Abby Hazlett is a dancer, choreographer, mermaid, princess, director, singer, actor, teacher, and writer from Pittsburgh, PA and a proud Equity Membership Candidate (EMC). She is a 2020 graduate of Nazareth College of Rochester (BFA musical theatre/dance minor) and a 2015 graduate of Stage Right! School for the Performing Arts and an alumna of Performing Arts Abroad.
Abby has worked with professionals such as Trey Compton, Bob Cline, Brett Smock, Robin Levine, and Aaron Galligan-Stierle, among others, and with companies such as The Rev Theatre Company (formerly Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival), where she earned her EMC card in the company of Grand Hotel in 2019. She made her directorial debut in 2020 as the director/choreographer of Girls Like That at Nazareth College and her choreographic debut in 2017 as the choreographer of Cabaret at Comtra Theatre.
Offstage, Abby is a mermaid, princess, dance instructor, freelance writer, coach, and tutor. Currently, she is performing at Pirate's Table in Surfside Beach, SC, as a mermaid and with The Character Company in Myrtle Beach, SC, as various face characters. She's worked at several dance studios and performing arts schools in the Pittsburgh area, training ages 6-20 in dance and helping students work on audition material. She has published works on the platforms Medium and Vocal and offers her services in script writing, copywriting, blogging, social media, Ebooks, and more.
Abby runs Add It to the Resume, a sticker shop on Etsy! She designs and sells stickers centering around her favorite things: musical theatre, mermaids, and more!
